ATRAP is composed of a diverse and committed team of researchers, educators, students, and community members working together to prevent vector-borne diseases in Uganda and DRC.
Our Core team
Our interdisciplinary core team brings together leading researchers with expertise in public health, environmental science, epidemiology, and social research. They design and lead ATRAP’s research programmes with a focus on co-creation, equity, and impact. Our team is united by a shared commitment to working with, not just for communities affected by vector-borne diseases.
We work closely with experts across research and academic institutions who bring deep regional knowledge and subject-matter expertise. These collaborators help shape our research design, mentor emerging researchers, and contribute to advancing our evidence-based interventions.
From graduate students to postdoctoral fellows, ATRAP provides a platform for early-career researchers to engage in meaningful, applied work. Students are actively involved in data collection, analysis, field engagement, and the translation of scientific findings into real-world solutions.
At the heart of ATRAP’s work are our citizen scientists or local residents who are trained to observe, collect data, shape and deliver health messages. Their work ensures that the scientific objectives of ATRAP are not only rigorous but also rooted in lived experience and cultural relevance.
